PRESENTATION 3: SEALABS – Citizen Science at Sea – Water Quality Data Collection – Spain and Global
SeaLabs is a citizen science project that leverages the potential, scope and impact of the large community of sailors by entrusting them with the responsibility of obtaining data.
The project is seeking to develop an OEM model of a water tester for deploying it to sailors worldwide delivering data through sea water quality tests. The data obtained by the crews participating in the SeaLabs project is added to the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) of the European Commission (EC).
The SeaLabs project promotes volunteering and participatory processes in the search for solutions to the challenges facing our marine ecosystems, in line with European environmental protection guidelines.
