Beach clean up along Southern bays around Los Cristianos. We’ll do several dives on off-shore spots where trash accumulated on sand banks and cliffs. Experienced freedivers welcome.

The sandy beaches of Los Cristianos with its harbour and hotels are a popular destination for tourists and offer numerous water sports. Human caused waste washes up in the bays along the coast.

Limpieza de playas del zona sur entre desde Los Cristianos. Haremos varias inmersiones en puntos de la costa donde se acumula la basura en bancos de arena y acantilados.

Las playas de arena de Los Cristianos son un destino popular para los turistas y ofrecen numerosos deportes acuáticos. Los residuos humanos se acumulan en las calas de la costa.

Inmersión fuera de la costa y limpieza de playas en calas y cuevas naturales remotas. Sólo acceso en barco. El velero Amaral estará anclado para bucear. Salida de la embarcación a través de Dinghy. Pernoctación para 2 miembros de la tripulación si de inscribes temprano.

La Gomera (Biosfera) es una joya en el archipiélago canario con muchas playas solitarias de guijarros a las que sólo se puede llegar en barco para realizar limpiezas.

Beach clean up along the bay around Las Galletas near the popular turtle habitat. We’ll do several dives on off-shore spots where trash accumulated on sand banks and under cliffs and take samples with our SeaLab. Experienced freedivers welcome.

The coastal stretch with yellow sandrock formations around Los Cristianos up to Palm-Maro is the living place for wonderful wildlife such as sea turtles and dolphins. The area is frequently visited by kajak groups. We will do tests with our mobile lab to check water quality, temperature and pH in the turtle habitat.

Limpieza de playas a lo largo de la bahía alrededor de Las Galletas, cerca del popular hábitat de las tortugas. Realizaremos varias inmersiones en puntos alejados de la costa donde se acumuló basura en bancos de arena y bajo acantilados y tomaremos muestras con nuestro SeaLab. Se admiten apneístas con experiencia.

ICTAC’s OCEAN SUPPORT HISTORY

Ocean conservation work has been our passion since ICTAC started helping environmental groups with cleanups in British Columbia, Canada, back in 2015. We have been supporters for the Surfrider Foundation and sponsored online events, hosted fundraisers, and chipped in for prizes at public beach cleanups with hundreds of volunteers.
As our EU team is based on the Canary Islands, Spain, we now collaborate with local cleanup groups and organize expeditions by sailboat to remote beaches and coastal stretches for plastic trash recovery. To record the trash collected, we use data sheets based on the standards of Ocean Conservancy and the International Coastal Cleanup™ (ICC) initiative in cooperation the Spain-based organization Ambiente Europeo.

ICTAC co-hosts ocean conservation events and supports citizen science projects such as data driven beach cleanups, coastal expeditions with SeaLabs – mobile kits for sailors in collaboration with Ambiente Europeo.

We also conduct ad-hoc beach cleanups with other organisations on the Canary Islands that are not always being published. Please send us an email and phone number if you are on a holiday or live here permanently. We’ll get in touch and we ad you to our activist’s whatsapp group.

Beach clean up along the remote beach under the cliffs of Tazacorte pueblo. We’ll tackle fishing ghost nets, broken irrigation pipes, plastic trash accumulated from agricultural waste and beachgoers.

Access by footpath, kayak or dinghy from the port of Tazacorte. Experienced freedivers welcome.

Thick plastic ghostlines wash ashore and are a big challenge to get off the rocks and sand. We work with drills, radials, sharp knives, pliers, axes. Sadly enough these green plastic polymers are being mistaken as seagrass by birds and fish.

Acceso por sendero, kayak o embarcación auxiliar desde el puerto de Tazacorte. Se admiten apneístas con experiencia.

Limpieza de playas a lo largo de la remota playa bajo los acantilados de Tazacorte pueblo. Nos ocuparemos de las redes fantasma de pesca, las tuberías de riego rotas, la basura plástica acumulada por los residuos agrícolas y los bañistas.
